About this artist
Gisela Vacca was lauded for her talent in the execution of subtle drawings at the Sint-Joost-Ten-Node Academy of Art, where she was a student. She lived in Italy from 1980 to 1986, where her work evolved to its full maturity of sublimated realism. When she returned to Belgium she sought her own way of transforming her inner world into concrete images. Alert and assertive in a world where animals and nature are the key elements, her passionate brush paints colour and depth into water scenes and landscapes. She transforms the play of fishes or animals into idealised dreamscapes, snapshots with subtle colour nuances suspended in movement or motionlessness.
